MAINTENANCE

Residents/Owners are responsible for maintaining the inside of their property, their back gardens and any land that shows on the deeds that may be to the side or front of their property.

This includes the doorstep at the front of the property and boundary fences as detailed on the deeds to the property.  It also includes drains as detailed in the Sewer & Drains section of this page.

Remaining greenlands and hardlands within the Olivers Mill boundaries are maintained by the Residents' Society.

Greenlands includes grass, bushes and trees within the boundaries of Olivers Mill.

Hardlands includes wents (pathways), garage court areas, hardstanding concrete areas such as parking bays and some fences that fall within the boundaries of Olivers Mill.

Please note that any trees, bushes, shrubs etc that overhang the boundaries to Olivers Mill are the responsibility of the Village Association to maintain and any concerns about this can be referred directly to the VA on 01474 872691.

SEWER & DRAINS

Foul water from toilets, bath, shower, kitchen sink, wash basins, washing machine etc. is run through the drains to the main public sewer system.

The property owner is responsible for the drains within the building and garden area.   The public sewer/drain is currently the responsibililty of Thames Water.   If you experience a foul drain problem in the main sewer, contact Thames water on 0800 316 9800

It may also be useful to email the Olivers Mill Residents' Society (OMRS) to advise of the issue as more than one property may be affected.  Please use

enquiry@oliversmill.org.uk

Surface water is rainwater from roofs, driveways, paths, patios, garages, garage courts and roads.  All surface water drainage will remain the responsibility of residents or in certain circumstances, Residents Societies or New Ash Green Village Association (except for adopted roads when responsibility is with Kent County Council (KCC) HIghways

REFUSE AND RECYCLING

Household rubbish sacks should be put out by 7am on the day of collection and not the day before.

To aid the refuse collectors, please group your rubbish sacks with close by neighbours' rubbish where possible.

Garden waste is collected fortnightly.  Sacks should be placed alongside the normal household rubbish.

It will only be collected if the Sevenoaks District Council paper sacks are used. These can be purchased from the Village Association Offices in Centre Road, New Ash Green or at the Parish Council Offices located on the Milestone Academy site at the edge of the village.
